Setting: In-Person The Care Service & Wapelhorst Pool
As the school bells ring for the last time and summer unfolds, we’re reminded that not every child looks forward to this season with the same excitement. For many, no school means no lunch. At the same time, summer heat forces many older adults in our community to struggle between paying the electric bill to keep their home cool or buying food. You can help change that.
Join us for “Pack the Pool”, our summer initiative to combat food insecurity when school meals aren’t available and it gets hot outside. Here’s how you can make a splash:
Details: Volunteers are needed to for “Pack the Pool”. Volunteer to help during the food collection or at the swim party. Volunteers in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by an adult. To volunteer, visit our Sign-Up Genius. There, you’ll find descriptions of each volunteer position and the available time slots.
Can’t make it to the pool? No problem! Consider making a donation or sponsoring swim party tickets for a Care Service familyto enjoy. Every ticket bought, every can donated, brings a smile to someone’s face this summer.
Let’s turn the tide on hunger together. Your support means the world to us and to the families we serve.
