Canvases & Cocktails: Succulent Planting

Everyone goes home with a masterpiece of their own creation at Canvases & Cocktails! These guided art-making events are perfect for artistic professionals and amateurs alike as instructors guide participants step by step. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or beer to drink, relax, and have fun! Our Canvases & Cocktails season kicks off on Wednesday, September 14 with a succulent planting session, presented by LoKey Designs. Classes continue through May 2017 with special projects you can only find at the Foundry Art Centre. Each class costs $35 and goes from 6pm-8pm. To register yourself or a group, call the Foundry Art Centre at 636-255-0270 or visit to register and read descriptions of each month’s projects.

6th Annual Hope 4 Tomorrow 5K

Runners 4 Luke and Luke’s Legacy is sponsoring this run in remembrance of Luke Maue’s 23nd birthday (9/21/2016) and in celebration of his life. Luke was killed by a drunk driver on May 18, 2001, at the age of seven in front of the St. Louis Zoo while on a 1st grade field trip. The proceeds raised from thsi event will serve to benefit our organization and the projects we support that further our  mission. The mission of Luke's Legacy, Inc. is to Eliminate Drunk Driving, Prevent Underage Drinking and Educate Our Community.

3rd Annual Eagle Trot

Please join us on Saturday, September 24, 2016 for our 3rd annual Independence Elementary School Eagle Trot 5K/1 mile Fun Run! Grab your friends and family and join us for this FUN, HEALTHY, and HAPPY community event with proceeds supporting our awesome school! We are offering two opportunities to run/jog/walk. The first will be a 1-mile fun run starting at 8:30am. This will be followed by a 5k race starting at 9:00am. This 5k will be professionally timed by Fleet Feet.The fun includes DJs, giveaways, medals for top finishers, and Kona Ice for purchase! Please register by September 10 to receive your Eagle Trot t-shirt the day of the Trot. Check-in and t-shirt pick up begins at 7:30 am the morning of the race at the Independence playground.Entry fees include registration, 2016 Trot t-shirt, water, and snack after the race. We will trot rain or shine. Children younger than third grade must have a responsible party participating alongside them. Strollers are welcome. We love pets, but please leave them at home. -
